Cloud Storage Architecture & File Explorer Guide | MetaFile Cloud
4-Zone Physical Storage, Per-Tenant SQLite Databases & 2-Step Conversion Pipeline.
Overview
MetaFile Cloud features a modern, secure physical storage architecture divided into four strictly isolated zones. Unlike legacy multi-tenant SaaS platforms that mix thousands of customer files inside a single shared database table, MetaFile provisions a dedicated, independent database for every single user account. This guarantees near-instant query speeds, eliminates noisy-neighbor performance bottlenecks, and provides mathematical separation against cross-tenant data leakage. Additionally, an ephemeral buffer powers our two-step upload conversion pipeline, while our template library houses master templates managed under strict role-based governance.
Core Capabilities & Features
Zone 1: System Core & Security Vault
Houses platform governance tables, AES-256 vault encryption keys, PayPal receiver settings, AI provider credentials, and upgrade specifications.
Zone 2: Isolated User Workspaces
Every user account gets a dedicated and isolated database recording all personal files, folders, labels, and activity logs.
Zone 3: Two-Step Upload Quarantine
Temporary buffer where incoming uploads are staged, virus-inspected, and converted into MetaFile standard formats before moving to permanent user storage.
Zone 4: Curated Master Templates
The curated library of templates across all 9 Studio file types, supporting Draft, Completed, and Public (Locked) lifecycle states.

Frequently Asked Questions
Never. Each user has an isolated database and physical subfolder. Unless you explicitly set a file to Public or add their email under Custom sharing, access is physically impossible.
Items moved to the Trash can be restored anytime. Trash does not permanently delete files until you manually click "Empty Trash".
